Josiah Bunting proves why our military is not truly diverse. As a lieutenant general and authentic superintendent of Virginia military institute, Buntin questions the true diversity of social classes in our military. From personal experience Bunting argues that the current generation lacks interest group in out countries serve well. In the past it was considered an honor and of colossal value to serve ones country. By the abolishment of the draft in 1973, preferences began being made. The lack of the draft meant that the countries army would be derived from all-volunteer service . The all volunteer army would draw much of its resources from segments of the American population that had fewer educational and economic opportunities than those who were privileged at birth by race or class. The disproportional disfunction meant that the wealthy and of higher class were able to avoid fight while the lower class, usually of color faced the heavily ship.
As a true scholar Josiah Buntin reminisces the lives of all those cheeseparing soldiers who fought for freedom.



The true heroic lost souls for which no one cared, “ I used to consider not only what they meant: what the young homo thought they might have to die for, what they gave up in losing their lives, and what the shattered families learning of their deaths felt.” As a veteran himself, Mr. Buntin expresses his informal feeling on the coward ness he calls a “phenomenon”. The disengagement of the privileged professional from duty he calls wrong.
Josiah Bunting believes in a fair equilibrium. A balance where a countries beneficiaries be liable to serve . A balance where the devoted beat back recompense and all is fair.
