Also, he represented Virginia at the initiative and Second Continental Congress. After the battle of Lexington and Concord, George was appointed as commander in chief of the Continental Army. He won several great battles including the Battle of Yorkton in 1781. George Washington ran for president in 1789 and won with unanimously votes by his contributions for United States.
