Essay Topic 4: Science, Utopia and Freedom
In the ledger Walden Two Skinner portrays the different exemptions that the inhabitants of the town Walden Two guide. thither is also a sense that the bon ton is lacking real emancipations.
I feel as though the society in Walden Two is set up so that freedom is promoted for the inhabitants, though it feels like an illusion due to the behavioral engineering that takes go forth in the society. First computeing in the society seems to be a key component in happiness and freedom for the people. at that place is no such thing as money, and the try and demand of the society is met without overproducing. The time that the people snip is pendent upon how leisurely and enjoyable that job is. So the people have the freedom to the type of work environment they want to be a part of (depending upon if they are able to do that job).
Having work set up like this is appealing to me, because in our work force today there are people who do and dont have enjoyable jobs, and their paycheck can easily pull up stakes pertaining to what job they have. There are some enjoyable jobs that could give way you plenty of money without too much effort compared to other jobs.
If you are a famous musician then you could be making hundreds of thousands a year for just playing music, opus someone who has to do tremendous amounts of manual labor is receiving borderline wage. This type of system would be appealing to
me if I scorned my job and wasnt earning much money from it, otherwise if I was on the higher end
of the cash flow, then I would most in all likelihood be comfortable with where the my finances are in my life.
The society also has the freedom of self-indigence, like in the educational system. There are no good or bad grades, and the motivation is driven by the curiosity of the individual. I believe that this freedom is good if the individual has the self-motivation to expand their knowledge.
