The health trouble industry has undergone dramatic changes in the past 20 years and these changes have affected two workers and patients. In this paper we are going to look at the organizational changes at heart the industry, explaining the need for government regulation within the industry, justifying the rational for government intervention in the market plow in the US and describing the additional complexities that would arise under this scenario of amplification via capital projects. We are also going to analyze how the diametrical forces will come together to constrain a convergence between the interest of stockholders and managers, speculate about the implications for the goals of the firm as to whether to maximize the industrys profits or to create more value for the shareholders.




The key organizational changes with the health care industry include a move from reliance on hospital- based care to more existence provided on an outpatient derriere and in nursing homes; the move to manage care; an enlarge in for- profit health care providers; and a bodily restructuring which includes horizontal (one owner, many hospitals) and vertical(across care continuum) integration. Admissions to community hospitals declined by 7.5 share from 1985to1995, while outpatient visits to community hospitals increased 89.4 percent during this same finale (AHA 1996). In addition, a growing amount of care is being provided in nonhospital setting, such as physicians offices, patients home, and freestanding outpatient clinics or cognitive process centers.
