In identifying a group that immigrated to the United States, I would have to pick the Chinese immigrants. According to my readings of the “Racial and Ethnic Groups”, the Chinese immigrated to the United States because of the discovery of gold and job sense and openings mostly located in the West. When the gold ran out, they simply scarce went to find work. I believe that the Chinese groups faced evil through language barriers, religions were hard to understand and the variety of several(predicate) customs were misunderstood. It went as far as racial diagonal when the Chinese immigrants would try and have union of Chinese restaurants and the governance would oppose their ideas. People feared that jobs and work would be taken collectable to Chinese immigrants working for lower wages. Congress also passed a law in 1885 which stated Chinese immigrants would not be allowed to be citizens. That lasted about 10 years. Chinese were considered heathens and subjected to widespread persecution and violence. The Chinese suffered severe exploitation. As more Chinese immigrants entered the United States, they were discriminated against in terms of pay and forced to work under unfathomable conditions.
White workers viewed them as economic competitors and racial inferiors, thereby bear on the passage of discriminatory laws and the commission of widespread acts of violence against the Chinese. This aggression hindered efforts by the Chinese to become American. It forced them to flee to the Chinatowns on the coasts, where they found safety and support. In these ghettos, they managed to seek out a meager existence, but were isolated from the rest of the population, making it surd if not impossible to assimilate into mainstream society. To add insult to injury, Chinese were criticized for their alleged unassailability.
