World War I ended in the year of 1918. In the year of 1919 many soldiers of both bloodless and African American segregations had returned home. In World War I at that place were more than 350,000 black African American soldiers that served in discriminate units. After returning from World War I, the soldiers were emotionally and physically scarred and did not receive as much see for their services as the white segregated units had received. Also, the NAACP (National Association for the onward motion of Colored People) was formed during this time period. The NAACP included many White and African American members to fight for discrimination and segregation to be abolished.

When the soldiers returned home from World War I, the NAACP started working for Civil Rights because they believed that if they were able to fight for their country they should be able to live in society with the same rules that the white muckle have. As a result of these civil rights movements, cardinal African Americans were lynched. Out of the seventy-seven people that were lynched, eleven of those people were African American soldiers that had hardly returned from defending our country, fourteen of those people were publicly burned, and eleven of those people were buried alive.
